ABOUT US

Family Pet Medical Center, originally Stockman’s Pet Clinic, was established by Dr. Richard Hubbard of Gowrie, IA. In 1995 Dr. Shimkat joined the practice as an associate DVM and served the practice for 12 years before purchasing it in 2007. In 2012 the practice became Family Pet Medical Center and moved to its current location in North Central Fort Dodge.

Family Pet Medical Center is a full-service veterinary facility offering a wide variety of services to animals in a relaxed and professional setting. We are proud to be able to care for your pet from an initial exam all the way through diagnosis and treatment. Our staff works to provide the best care available to each patient and truly takes an interest in their health because your pets are family to us.

Dr. Kimberly Shimkat

Dr. Shimkat is the practice owner and a Fort Dodge native. She is proud to have graduated from Iowa State University in 1995. She has been in private practice in Fort Dodge for almost 30 years.
