Family Pet Medical Center, originally Stockman's Pet Clinic, was established by Dr. Richard Hubbard of Gowrie, IA. In 1995 Dr. Shimkat joined the practice as an associate DVM and served the practice for 12 years before purchasing it in 2007. In 2012 the practice became Family Pet Medical Center and moved to its current location in North Central Fort Dodge.
Family Pet Medical Center is a full service veterinary facility offering a wide variety of services to animals in a relaxed and professional setting. We are proud to be able to care for your pet from an initial exam all the way through diagnosis and treatment. Our staff works to provide the best care available to each patient and truly takes an interest in their health, because your pets are family to us.
We are honored to have been recognized for our veterinary excellence by Reader's Choice Fort Dodge Messenger as Best Veterinarian in 2013, Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance as Small Business of the Year in 2013, and in 2014 by the Webster County Sheriff's Office for providing care to Cayd, one of their police dogs.
